Coach Tim Cavanaugh Tim Cavanaugh has been playing and coaching football for over four decades. He has been with the Queens Falcons specifically since 1991. Coach Tim was born in Manhattan on Post Avenue and Dykeman and later moved to Forest Hills, where he spent his youth. Growing up, Tim played football roller hockey, basketball, baseball, tennis, stickball, skateboarding and surfing. He is the proud father of four beautiful girls - Ryan, Hope, Caroline and Sydney. As a Corporate Executive, Tim works in High Yield Bonds and Leveraged Finance for Guggenheim Capital Markets. Coach Tim's father coached him in this program and was one of hte first coaches with Lenny Heck to coach a traveling team with the Queens Falcons. Tim's favorite motto is "Winners never quit, quitters never win. Never quit and tough times don't last, tough people do". When not coaching football, Coach Tim can be found at the beach. Tim's lifelong goal is to remember Stephen Hoffman through the Run To Daylight Education Program. He is always looking for ways to better run this program and help more children have brighter futures through this program. Tim leaves us with this quote "If I can help a young person take a different path and save them from the streets, drugs, violence and crime, I will do it in a heartbeat. We are defined by what we do and teach others - not by the amount of things we attain in life. I had a family member who took the wrong path and that has helped me keep the resolve to help our young people in the Queens Falcons/Run To Daylight Education Program. The legacy of the program will outlive me and I know that it will continue through the help of parents and other volunteers". Contact Tim: tcavanaugh@queensfalcons.net |
